Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How long does a GSEM implementation usually take?
A: GSEM implementation timeline is largely dependent on the consumer and their ability to dedicate resources to the project. If they are able to allocate the necessary skilled resources, we estimate 1-3 months depending on complexity and customization required.
Q: How much does it cost?
A: At this time HPE is not charging for use of GSEM case exchange. Consumers are required to purchase/install a client SSL certificate using an HPE approved authority. The only other cost is for your own resources and time to develop your side of the interface and participate in the project.
Q: Is it possible to send an attachment?
Yes, there are two ways to send attachments to a Case.-
- 1) GSEM API
For the GSEM API, please refer to the API specification tab. Max files size is 2GB, but anything over 1GB will likely impact performance. HPE recommends log files be limited to a 3-week span, which should reduce these files below 1GB. If you have additional questions, please contact the GSEM Team at pssgsem@hpe.com.
- 2) Email to Case
For Email to Case, once a Service Request has been submitted and a case crated in the HPE system, the HPE case number that is returned in the Accept Problem transaction can be used to facilitate sending an attachment for that case back to HPE.
To do so, send an email with the attachment to gsd_csc_case_mngmt@hpe.com (Production) or
gsd_csc_casemgmt_nonprod@hpe.com (TRAIN )
with the subject line: DO NOT EDIT THIS LINE
Q: Who will provide the required development on the client side?
A: Clients are responsible for the development and support on their side of the interface. Clients are welcome to use their direct staff or outsource the development to a third party. HPE does not offer client-side development or support.
Q: What skills are required?
A: HPE GSEM uses industry standard technologies. Development on the client side can be on any current platform, using any programing language. Client-side developers should have expertise on the integration capabilities and functions of their own client Call Handling System (CHS), as well as experience with REST based APIs. HPE GSEM is system agnostic and can be implemented on any client CHS.
Q: What support does HPE provide?
A: The HPE GSEM team will provide Project Management (PM) and GSEM Subject Matter Expert (SME) support throughout the integration project. An HPE GSEM PM/SME will be assigned to the project and act as the GSEM focal point through all phases of the project.
